We had a good turnout of irrigators attend this meeting, thank you Mission District chairman Ray Swenson for making the phone calls letting irrigators know Dave Stipe was speaking.
BIA Report: No BIA report.
December Minutes: David Lake made motion to accept December minutes, Dave Vincent second. Passed unanimously.
January warrants were presented: Whaley & Assoc. PC, monthly bill $600.00, Click Here Designs, LLC monthly bill $55.00, US Treasury-payroll tax deposits $160.65, Mt Unemployment Insurance $3.68,
Dept. of Revenue $41.00, Five Valleys Law, PLLC $440.00 and $120.00, WIPFLI $3500.00 (final [payment has not come in yet), Total FID Warrants: $4,920.33. Dave Vincent Made motion to accept Warrants, David Lake second, Passed unanimously.
O&M First half payment to BIA: Janette made motion to pay first half of BIA bill $1,471,344.64 for 86,849,529 acres. Bruce White Second. Passed unanimously.
Washington DC Dave Vincent made a motion to table discussion on Washington DC., Second by David Lake.
Resolution for 2020: Commissioner elections: David Lake made motion to pass Resolution 2020-1 for upcoming elections of Districts 3 and 5. Bruce White second, Passed unanimously.
Updating by-laws was discussed and Dave Vincent will give a report at February meeting.
Montana Water Resources: Michael Murphy has reported there is a position available on MWR Board and would like a letter from FID Board stating the board interest in having FID Commissioner be considered for position before February 5-7 board meeting. David L, I attended MWR board meeting last year and would be willing to represent Flathead Irrigation District and because it is a board position if irrigators felt he/she is not doing their job, FID board member could be replaced. Dave Vincent commented that the MWR needs to understand that whoever is representing FID should that person not get elected that would change FID representation for MWR.
Dave Stipe gave a presentation on Lake County Commissioners concerns regarding S3019 Bill to protect access to water for all Montanans, and other purposes.
Public Comments: There was lengthy discussion regarding S3019.
